Once qualified as a hairdresser there are many different directions your career can take you. You can work as a stylist for T.V., theatre, music, fashion agencies, cruise ships, health farms, and even work abroad. A successful stylist can pick from the top jobs:- preparing supermodels for the catwalk, joining a production company making the next movie blockbuster or tending the locks of the rich and famous.

Self-employment is very common in hairdressing. After a couple of years the majority of stylists start-up their business, enter into a partnership or teach hairdressing.So if your creative, outgoing and ready to put the hours in you could own your own salon in a relatively short space of time.
